Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for starting the modern science-based study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victim witnesses within lawful situations. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer who has received several awards and grants. She has been a consultant to numerous governments and agencies throughout the world on policies and research concerning children who are victims of the justice system. She acts as an expert consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional associations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is part of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member and International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of The American Psychological Association's 3 divisions: Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice.
